On technique.
For my artworks I usually use plywood. I chose this system for two reasons.
The first is that paintings are usually rectangular, while I want the framework to follow the shape of the subject; in this way the rectangular shape can become a symbol. For example, I have often used a high and narrow rectangle, with the proportions of four golden rectangles, to symbolize Non-Form. The second reason is that paintings are almost always separated from the context by a frame, while the sculptures are immersed in their surroundings. I add some thickness to the plywood tables to keep them a few centimeters off from the wall so as to project a shadow. Therefore, they become picture-sculptures, part of the environment as they interact with their surroundings in a continuous change of light.
